Upgrade project: Worcestershire Primary Care Trust Minimize

ADB starts upgrade project in Worcestershire Primary Care Trust and The Worcestershire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust to implement the latest versions of their procurement and supply chain management products with their Procurement Suite for all their centralized and distributed procurement needs

Worcestershire Primary Care Trust (WPCT) and The Worcestershire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (WMHPT) in conjunction with ADB Systemer AS has started a project to implement ADB’s procurement suite to manage and control all of the Trusts procurement, order management, goods receiving and invoice control functions. The Trust will now have the capability to centrally manage all procurement activity using WorkMate Centralised Procurement and implement distributed purchasing to all staff using WorkMate Procurement Manager. Supplier collaboration will also be managed using WorkMate Order Manager.

This project started in March 2007 and is in the planning, specification and configuration phase where any development, configuration and testing is currently being completed. We are expecting to start our pilot rollouts of applications in June 2007 and will quickly follow this with a Trust wide implementation.

Worcestershire Primary Care Trust (WPCT) began on 1st October 2006 after evolving from the merger of three organisations: Redditch and Bromsgrove, South Worcestershire and Wyre Forest. Funded directly by Government with a budget of approx £610million per year, they both purchase ('commission') and provide healthcare for the population (552,000) of Worcestershire. Our boundary is coterminous with that of Worcestershire County Council.

The Worcestershire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (WMHPT) was formed on 1 April 2002 from the former Worcestershire Community and Mental Health NHS Trust.  This change coincided with the establishment of Redditch & Bromsgrove and South Worcestershire Primary Care Trusts, who joined Wyre Forest Primary Care Trust (established on 1 April 2001) as the county’s new Trusts, responsible for the commissioning and provision of services.

WMHPT covers the whole of Worcestershire, a mixed rural and urban area of over 500 square miles, covering the city of Worcester together with the towns of Kidderminster, Stourport, Bewdley, Tenbury Wells, Bromsgrove, Redditch, Droitwich, Evesham, Pershore, Malvern and Upton on Severn.
